Many patients report this treatment solution has been truly life changing. In essence you attend the dental clinic for one main day of treatment. By the end of the day you leave with a fully fixed set of teeth unlocking confidence and a beautiful smile many thought they would never have again. Before the main day all the planning is carried out. After the procedure you will be reviewed at intervals to make sure everything is ok giving you the peace of mind that you are in good caring hands.
In most cases 4 dental implants are needed (known as the All on 4 technique) to restore a full jaw with a set of teeth. Occasionally 6 dental implants are required (if so, this will be discussed with you at the planning stage). A permanent fixed bridge is then fitted to these implants.
Dr Naveed will provide a comprehensive examination to evaluate your suitability for dental implants, take digital x-rays or a CT scan so that the quality of your bone can be assessed. Dental implants rely on solid foundations of bone therefore adequate bone is required for this treatment. The x-ray images are also used to plan the direction of where the implant is placed. A treatment plan, consent and final cost breakdown will be presented to you.
You will attend 2 or 3 short appointments to do all the planning for the immediate teeth that will go on to the dental implants on the day of the surgery. The appearance and colour will all be confirmed with you (this can be changed at a later date if wish for changes).
The surgery is planned using all the information from the assessment. We will know which size implant we need to use and if any other supporting treatment is required such as a bone graft. The surgery is performed under local anaesthetics and patients can be sedated if very nervous. Post-operative care and instructions are given verbally and in writing. Medication is prescribed if needed.
Once the implants are placed you will be given time to rest. Our expert technician will be on site on the day to finalise your provisional teeth. Once ready these will be fitted to your dental implants. You leave the clinic with a full set of fixed teeth with a brand new smile and bite. You will be provided with aftercare instructions verbally and in writing.
We will usually see you 2-3 weeks after surgery to make sure you are ok and getting use to your new teeth.
3-4 months later, once the dental implants are fully integrated in your mouth, your provisional teeth are removed and replaced by the final set of teeth created by our master ceramist. You will be included in the shape, size and colour of the teeth and smile if you are wishing for any changes from the provisional teeth that were fitted on the day of the surgery.
After a period of about 3-6 months your final teeth are fabricated by our All-on-4 technician and fitted once your implants are fully integrated into your jaw.
